Trauma isn't in the event that happens — it's how YOUR body responds to it. One situation might be totally ok for your body and the same situation may cause mine to collapse from overwhelm.

Our bodies know how to keep us safe. It’s beautiful. & merciful. If we trip, our arms and hands extend to protect us. If a hailstorm starts, our legs run to get us away. If a loud noise catches us by surprise - heads & shoulders tuck in to hide us & protect our core organs.
But, sometimes, an event causes overwhelm to stay in the body. This overwhelm keeps the body in a state of disequilibrium causing disconnection & exhaustion.
Strained social connections, inflammation, pain, unhelpful beliefs & patterns, emotional & psychological disruptions. You already know how any one of these can cause more stress.

Hi, I'm Kath
I absolutely adore helping courageous, curious people improve their lives, and find their way back to their bodies and themselves.
For much of my life, I lived detached from my body. I didn’t know what it was telling me or that listening would be helpful.
Somatic experiencing trauma resolution continues to help me connect with ME. The me that is messy, generous, awkward, curious, inconsistent, and playful. I still work with stuck patterns. I will never be "fixed". But, I have more tools to navigate what life throws my way with more ease.
This work is rooted in deep listening, empathy, and meeting the self exactly where you are and finding what you need. As a fellow creative, I understand the vulnerability and discipline that comes with putting your art into the world.

That's completely normal and exactly where we start. Many people live disconnected from body sensations. Part of this work is gently learning to notice and interpret your body's signals without pressure or judgment.
